The dates, and venues for the 2017 Munster GAA Football Championship are known with the Quarter-Finals fixed for the weekend of May 27th/28th and the semi-finals will take place on June 10th/11th. Munster Senior Football finalists Kerry and Tipperary have byes to the semi-finals.
The defending champions Kerry will await the winners of the Quarter-Final meeting of Limerick and Clare. If it’s Kerry V Limerick the game is in Fitzgerald Stadium and if it’s Kerry V Clare the game is in Cusack Park. Tipperary will play either Cork or Waterford on the other side of the draw. The 2017 Munster Senior Football Final is fixed for Sunday July 2nd.
Meanwhile Kerry Minor footballers will play Clare at a Kerry venue on April 12th and on the same day Tipperary are home to Cork with the winners of both of those games almost certain to meet each other in the semi final. The losers of the minor semi finals on May 10th will see their season come to an end.
Once again Kerry will have a triple assault on the All Ireland Club Championships to look forward to this Spring. In the Senior, Dr Crokes meet Corofin of Galway on Saturday February 11th in the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick with a cracking game in prospect. Two weeks earlier, on Sunday January 29th. there is a very attractive Kerry/Mayo double header in Cusack Park Ennis; In the Intermediate semi final Kenmare Shamrocks meet Lee Keegan’s Westport and in the Junior semi final Glenbeigh-Glencar will play Louisburgh .
